Bill’s life long love of music began at an early age, from listening to vinyl on his HI-FI stereo system to singing in the choir. He still listens to vinyl but on his turntable. His father sang in the church most of his life and Bill was the child of the family that continued to explore music.
He is self-taught on the acoustic guitar and drums; however, in his later years, he has taken formal guitar lessons to always find ways to improve his playing and expand his performance genres. Bill tends to appreciate music that generates from a Singer/Songwriter perspective and is a major endorser of live performing.
Bill began playing with friends, attending local jam sessions and performing on occasion. These early years led Bill to play in the band “JACK SMITH and WILDFIRE” as a rhythm guitar player highlighted by opening for the SUN SESSION legend: Mr. Carl Perkins. He then went on to play sporadically throughout his lifetime and now in his recent two decades has been actively performing at local venues, charity events, outdoor concerts, festivals and a myriad of private engagements.
Balancing a life of raising a family, a job, and civic minded volunteer work for his community, such as volunteer Fire and Rescue services, while also becoming Director of EMA for in his town for over 30 years, Bill always found time to play his music.
Today Bill still volunteers as a MEALS ON WHEELS driver and regularly entertains at the CENTER FOR SENIORS in his town.
Some of Bill’s other interests include his vintage car and motorcycles, biking, gardening, playing with his dog, Fergus, traveling to bucket list destinations, helping his professional dressage rider/instructor wife with her horse endeavors, as well as enjoying his family and friends. His retirement has afforded him the opportunity to explore and express his passion for performing music.
Today Bill still is actively playing solo or in the band of his good friends, DEALING ACES.
